4th Grade Academic Assignment Policy
4th Grade Academic Assignment Policy
We as a 4th grade team are committed to making this year a success for your child with the help of family involvement. Academic assignments will have a purpose and directly benefit what your child is doing during class time. If assignments are not completed on time in class, they may become homework.
Student Assignment Responsibilities:
We expect students to do their best job on their assignments. We expect assignments to be neat, not sloppy. We expect students to ask for help after they have given it their best effort. We expect all assignments to be turned in on time.
If a student is not prepared for class in meeting assignment expectations, he or she may receive a “clip-down” on his or her chart. All students are responsible for turning in any late or missing assignments, due to absence or otherwise, within three days. Students who do not turn in any late or missing assignments within three days may be asked to complete the assignment during recess time. Any late or missing assignments after the end of each quarter will be placed into a summer school folder. Students must complete these assignments or they will have to work on the assignments during Field Day or during summer school after the end of the school year.
Teacher Assignment Responsibilities:
Feedback will be given to students. All students will be given the opportunity to correct assignments, and any student scoring less than 70% on an assignment must make corrections. Students will receive full point recovery on daily assignments and half-point recovery on tests.
Parent Assignment Responsibilities:
Parents are also key to ensuring academic success. Therefore, we ask that you actively monitor your child’s progress using the ParentVUE Portal and look at your child’s planner each day. If you have questions about setting up a ParentVUE account, please contact the Elementary Office.
